This project involved new large two storey and single storey rear extensions plus internal alterations to a detached property. Whilst the existing property was already a decent sized dwelling, it didn’t quite have that wow factor that the client was hoping for. We completely redesigned the property inside and out, providing the client with a fantastic family home.
The rear extension houses a new open plan kitchen and living area with a beautiful fireplace, looking out onto the rear garden at ground floor level. These areas also link to a separate dining room, utility room and study area. The downstairs area also benefits from a separate lounge that can be used as a playroom for the kids. The space works really well, bringing the whole family together whilst at the same time providing areas that can be divided as required.
At first floor level the side and rear extensions added a new master bedroom with a dressing area and ensuite, as well as a further two large bedrooms with access to a ‘jack and jill’ style bathroom. This now turned the property into a large 5 bedroom family home with ensuites and separate bathroom.
The exterior finishes of the new extension provide an excellent contrast to the original property, with the new extension finished in a composite timber cladding. The modern windows and large folding sliding doors ensure that whilst the property is extremely functionable internally, externally it is beautifully finished and can be greatly appreciated when looking upon the property whilst sitting in the garden.
