This project involved the construction of a single storey rear extension to replace an existing conservatory set against a newly constructed detached property. Whilst this new build property was exactly what the client had hoped for, the rear conservatory proved to be somewhat of a hindrance. As many others have found out for themselves, conservatory’s often become a complete waste of space when used to extend a property as they are too hot during the summer and too cold during the winter.
The rear extension housed a new study area accessed from the dining room looking out onto the rear garden through large folding sliding doors and a glazed gable wall to the rear elevation.
The new extension was built using low level brickwork to match the existing property but with cream timber cladding to the upper portion of walling. This complemented the original dwelling perfectly with a stunning outcome.
